Background:
This coffee comes from Kiniezire, in the Kalehe territory of Kivu, eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo. Grown at around 2,000 metres above sea level on the shores of Lake Kivu, it is coffee shaped by altitude, precision — and extraordinary resilience.
Since January 2025, conflict in the region, including occupation by Rwandan M23 rebels, has displaced over one million people and destabilised entire communities. And yet, our partner farmers continued to work their land.
Against all odds, they never stopped.
Every cherry in this harvest reflects meticulous care. Each lot was carefully selected and processed to protect the quality standards that define our partnership. In moments like this, consistency is not accidental — it is deliberate.
But beyond the score, this coffee represents something more important: commitment. To craft. To community. To long-term partnership when it matters most.
When you brew this coffee, you’re tasting not only terroir and process, but resolve. The connection between Kivu and your cup continues — because the people behind it refuse to let it break.
